Not often enough in the life of any newsman does a note arrive over the transom with a sentence that reads, "As the elevator door opened, in walked a woman in a leather bustier leading, by a dog leash and collar, a man wearing nothing but a string thong."

Damn, I missed it! [giggle]

Actually, this reminds me of something I wrote down in my notebook. It must have been a year ago, when the last Fair was in town.

I was riding home from work on the train, and sitting across from me was a rather ordinary looking middle aged Asian woman. She was clutching a white plastic bag, which I probably wouldn't have looked twice at, except that I couldn't figure out what the graphic was in the middle of the bag. It looked like a short straight stick with squiggly lines coming out the top.

So in trying to figure out what this thing was, I started to read the writing on the bag.

The first line didn't really help.

New England Leather Alliance

The weird graphic came after that. Then, as I read what was at the bottom, it hit me.

It's a whip.

The writing underneath?

I think I would have turned that bag inside out. Of course, I'm kinda on the shy, retiring side. (ahem)

Oh, I meant if I'd purchased a whip and it came in a bag that declared I'd made my purchase at a fetish shop, I would have turned the bag inside out so people wouldn't know I'd been shopping at a fetish shop. ::blush::

I am torn between putting this in "in the news and maybe even true" and putting it in "it is just damn funny." It is sort of a combo of both -- and puts most political satirists to shame :

So I have been reading all these articles in which Patrick Stewart is condemning Hollywood (especially Kill Bill) for it's portrayal of women and violence. And it seems like his argument is that *any* film that involves violence of any sort that has a woman (as perpetrator or victim) is bad and perpetuates a stereotype. I note he doesn't express a problem with violence against men in film. Sheesh.

CNN - Girl Steals Bunny

quote:
A 9-year-old girl accused of stealing a rabbit and $10 from a neighbor's home was arrested, handcuffed and questioned at a police station.

A Pasco County sheriff's deputy found the black-and-white rabbit, named Oreo, hopping around in the girl's living room, according to the arrest report. She was read her rights and taken away in the back of a patrol car.

Imagine trying to give that cat a bath?

You: Bath time.

Cat: I bench press 450.

You: Forget I spoke.

Wow, that cat is... BIG.

According to the owner, that overgrown cat is only 24 lbs. I would have guessed at least 40, but then again, I don't know much about cats.

<-- Hey, I'm a smart bunny!

Maybe the woman is deceivingly small, because the picture of the cat on the couch doesn't look too crazy.

I suspect that is a really big couch. The cat in front of the doorway pic does not look huge either till you look at the doorway behind the cat and realize the cat is longer than the doorway is wide.

Yeah, nice observation. I'd still like to see some actual measurements and weight of this cat.

Would you call this cat cute?

I think Riley has left "cute" far behind and moved into the realm of "magnificent."
