just say no to spam
So here we are in L.A. [the land of electricity yay!]. And Jones and I are having a very good time doing things like flicking light switches at 3 a.m. and watching lights actually come on. And then there is fun in the bathtub too -- I have really missed a bathtub. But. Back in the land of electricity means too --
Transferring back to real modes of computer technology I used to use instead of the exciting pieced together modes I was using in the woods when everything was based on solar [and never enough of it] power. I was up half the night and a good deal of today updating all the ftp access codes for the sites and updating web pages. Yegads. But, I think the big computer has everything it needs now [the big computer used too much electricity for the woods] everything seems to be working.
While I was at it I closed out all the old seemaxrun email boxes. Usually I wait till the first of the year to change boxes out but cripes contact_2003 was getting a lot of spam so while I was in there, poof, enough o' that.
What makes me mad is some spammer got ahold of the fourfourzero addresses and then of course those addresses got sold on five billion "here is how you get new customers" email lists to other spammers and now the support and design and even the damn billing addresses at fourfourzero are getting spammed like mad. The other night I deleted [I am not kidding] 1500 pieces of spam.
[How the fuck is anyone supposed to run a website company when the support email box is flooded with spam?]
I just do not get it. What do people think they are going to accomplish flooding support email boxes? Someone trying to provide technical support to clients is going to say, Oh wait hold everything that is penis enlargement I better take a look at that?
I do not think so.
